The new high-speed station “Porta de Galicia” will be located in the area of A Gudiña (Ourense) within the Madrid-Galicia High Speed Line that will serve the services of Long Distance in UIC width.
The proposed design integrates the construction in the slope created by platform. The travallers building has a large space that houses the lobby and has an attached building for passenger information, where the staff offices of the personnel, the sale of tickets and the toilets are located. The station is completed by an independent structure for building systems and storage.
In addition to the passenger building, the project includes the following actions: the construction of platforms and their canopies on these, the development of the lower access to platforms with the vertical communication elements (staircase and ramp), the parking lot and the exterior urbanization and the connection of road OU-533 with the access road to the station.
The access to platforms is made by an underpass at the end of which an adapted staircase and ramp are provided. A space is also provided for an elevator. The infrastructure has been designed prioritizing the principles of sustainability and energy efficiency.
